Located on the south side of Indianapolis, The Timbers is a community of 147 condominiums. These affordable condos are situated on a thickly-wooded acreage bordered by creeks to create a scenic and nature-friendly environment. The neighborhood has abundant birds and other wildlife, and yet this oasis is within ten minutes of downtown and its attractions and businesses.
The Timbers acreage, with its many ravines, was used as ammunition storage during World War II. The Timbers was built from 1974-1978 and received an architectural award from the Wood Council.
There are five Timbers streets with names reflecting the natural setting: Wilderness Trail, Larkspur Trace, Woodsage Trace, Foxglove Trace, Indian Pipe Trace. Carports are provided on the first three streets and garages on Indian Pipe.
The Timbers development includes a spacious clubhouse (pictured above), which also houses the Timbers business office. The clubhouse is used for community events and is available for rental by Timbers owners for private parties. The Timbers business address is 4201 South Sherman Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237.
